Taxi from Krabi Airport to Nopparat Thara
Nopparat Thara is a long, quiet beach just north of Ao Nang, inside a national park. You find casuarina trees, simple seafood restaurants and a few resorts, and at low tide you can walk a long way along the sand. It is far calmer than Ao Nang, yet Ao Nang is only a short ride away. The Ao Nam Mao pier, where the boats for Railay leave, is nearby.
About Nopparat Thara
Nopparat Thara is a long, quiet beach just north of Ao Nang. It lies inside a national park, which keeps the building low and the beach open. Casuarina trees line the sand, and the restaurants are simple: grilled fish, rice and cold drinks, often with your feet almost in the sand.
Ao Nang is a short ride away, so you can eat out in the evening and still sleep somewhere calm. The pier at Nopparat Thara is also a departure point for longtail boats, and the Ao Nam Mao pier for Railay is nearby. At low tide the beach is wide, and you can walk a long way along the water.
The ride
The drive covers 25 km and takes about 30 minutes, passing through Ao Nang's outskirts on the way. Your driver goes to your hotel or to the beach pier, whichever you prefer.
